Hello! My name is Cynthia Alvarado, and I'm excited to share a little about myself and my journey as a Postpartum Doula. I am a 33-year-old Latina. I’m happily married to an extraordinary man who is not only my partner but also my greatest support. Together, we are the proud parents of a remarkable 13-year-old who constantly amazes us with his curiosity and creativity. Our family is filled with love and adventure, and we cherish every moment we have together.
My path in Baby Night Care began in 2011, inspired by a close friend—an enthusiastic doula—who encouraged me to pursue doula training. At that time, my understanding of what being a doula entailed was minimal, but her passion ignited a deep fascination within me. My love for babies has always been profound, and the thought of supporting families during their postpartum journey filled me with excitement. Coincidentally, I began my doula training while pregnant with my son, Julian Alvarado. This timing was particularly significant, as Julian became my first true experience with newborns, making it one of the most rewarding chapters of my life.
Starting out with no formal work experience, I embraced a part-time, daytime nanny role when my son was 6 months old, which allowed me to gain practical insights while managing my home responsibilities. As I grew confident in baby care, I shifted to nighttime work, continuing my daytime role as a nanny. This helped me enhance my skills and strengthen my resume, eventually gaining a lot of experience and working full-time at night as a postpartum doula.
Throughout my journey, I have made it my mission to deepen my understanding and enhance my skills in the critical areas of newborn and postpartum care. My commitment is underscored by earning multiple esteemed certifications, including Certified Doula, Certified Newborn Specialist, and Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. These qualifications, combined with my degree in Child Development—particularly focused on infant care—provide me with a comprehensive and solid foundation to address the unique needs of both infants and their families.
With over ten years of dedicated experience supporting families, I find great joy and fulfillment in my work. I take a holistic approach to care, integrating my diverse professional experiences to provide tailored services that align with each family's unique circumstances and preferences. My offerings include emotional support during the early days, as well as practical lactation guidance to help mothers navigate breastfeeding challenges. I provide a wealth of educational resources aimed at empowering parents with knowledge and confidence, along with effective strategies to enhance their well-being. In addition to emotional and educational support, I also offer nighttime baby care, ensuring that parents feel secure and supported as they get the restful sleep they need.
If you or someone you know is seeking compassionate guidance and unwavering support during this beautiful yet often challenging transition into parenthood, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am here to assist in any way I can, providing a nurturing presence during this transformative time!
